Twelfth Night
Shakespeare's Twelfth Night is a highly celebrated tale of cruelty, disguise and unrequited love delivered with comedy and wit. The story following a shipwreck in which twins Viola and Sebastian are separated, with each assuming the other is dead. Viola disguises herself as a man in order to serve in the court of Orsino, the Duke of Illyria, who sends her to woo the beautiful Countess Olivia on his behalf. Olivia, however becomes enamoured with Viola, now known as Cesario. Meanwhile, Olivia’s drunken uncle, Sir Toby, decides to play a trick on her uptight servant, Malvolio, with hilarious results..Having received enormous praise when the production was staged by The Globe in 2002, they have assembled the same creative team to work on the 2012 production. In the all male cast, Mark Rylance reprises his role as Olivia and comedian Stephen Fry takes on the role of Malvolio.
