For Black Boys...
For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Hue Gets Too Heavy is the critically applauded Royal Court play inspired by Ntozake Shange’s For Coloured Girls...It depicts the stories and emotions that unfold as six black men join for group therapy in London. This production is at times joyous, at times brutal and utilises music, movement, verse and prose to tell a powerful mix of stories.
The For Black Boys cast is made up of Stage Debut Award winners Mark Akintimehin, Emmanuel Akwafo, Nnabiko Ejimofor, Darragh Hand, Aruna Jalloh and Kaine Lawrence. With new talent sharing new voices, it promises to be one of the standout West End debuts of 2023 and a challenging but life-affirming night out at the Apollo Theatre.
